I think I have the answers to all of these questions.
It is being released on orange vinyl and in a gatefold sleeve. It is limited to 500 numbered copies. We are aiming for 29 October but the pressing plant seems to have a huge backlog , probably caused by a 46 disc Rancid box set (I kid you not) so if it is a couple of weeks late don't panic. I can assure you it is definitely happening. It is not a bootleg and it has been licensed from Cherry Red.
I have been involved with a record label since 1992 but Optic Nerve is a label that I am doing myself. The Website should have been up and running a couple of weeks ago but the designers are not moving at any great speed, so I apologise for the lack of web presence.
Why Orange Vinyl? When we were planning this I wanted the packaging to tie in with the sleeves for the singles but also there is the Wolves connection. The artwork for the back cover is based upon the Sweet Sweet Pie sleeve and the album itself will come in a clear PVC outer cover with a bright orange 12" square insert mimicking the Poppies say Grrr reissue sleeve. We did consider putting in a paper bag but it wasn't really practical.
Initially we wanted the same track listing as the Castle CD but Cherry Red didn't provide the master for Inside You (Live) so that is why the pre beat box demo replaces it.
As long as this release goes OK (break even will do) I hope to tackle Box Frenzy and the bonus tracks from both that and Now For A feast but I haven't entered into any discussions with anybody else about this. We have just been knocking about some ideas on how we could make it really special (A Box Frenzy box, or something)
We are trying to make all of our releases really nice desirable items and do hope that everyone will be happy with this. I think you will be.
