I gotta say, as a kid growing up in the US and not close enough to any major city to see PWEI, they were only ever a studio band to me, and they were an all time favorite. Even without the live experience they were great. They were doing things that nobody at the time (especially the shit bands MTV kept playing) were doing. Are any of their albums "all time greats"? At a certain period in my life they were, they probably wouldn't have done the same thing if I first discovered them as the boring 30 something, parent I am now. But in my teens they were the best band of all time.

The Poppies played a very big part in my life (from mid-teens to early 20's) & although they are certainly my favourite band of all time, I am fairly confident in saying they were not the BEST band in the world! (not that I think ANY band is the "best in the world", but that's another topic altogether!)

But for me, PWEI were alongside me through the best parts of my life - their albums, their gigs, their t-shirts - and for that, looking back as a 37 year old, I am eternally thankful!

There is still a LOT of love out there for the Incredible PWEI and I am sure that must spin those original band members out, but I see Adams thoughts as honest words from a man humbled by the adoration of the Nation.

& in my mind... they deserve all the adoration we give them!
