Reason i chose the Fountain is that the unusual and unique choice of Mogwai dong the 'Rock' instrumentation and kronos Quarter doing the string parts makes it sound like nothing else I've ever heard, at all.And thats what makes it stand apart from every other score I've heard.

I've alsonoticed that much as "Lux Aterna" appeared to turn up on trailers and TV all the time about five years ago, now its Stuff from "The Fountain". Can't be all that bad.

They are soundtracks, background movie music.

A lot if them stand up on there own - he has also reworked a few to be more listenable without the film -ie not 25 0dd 30 second - 2 min cues.. Moon & Fountian for example are amazing albums and would be if there were just solo LP's not soundtracks. Some of his work, as with other composers does transend the medium it was born for.

I really hope Mass Effect 3 will be electronic (The score). I haven't played any ME yet, but Sci-Fi and Orchestral music mix like pickles and ice cream.

Seriously, I almost laughed at that crappy "loud" orchestra in BioShock before turning it off and putting some Skinny Puppy on.
