As it was locked i had to re-start it

I cant believe i turn off my PC for 2 days to give extensive listening to this is the day and cure for sanity (and also to avoid the rugby results - i record the live transmission in the mornings so i can watch of an evening whilst the rest of the clan enjoy Simons Kareoke on itv) and it all kicks off on the forum!!

My view - everyone is entitled to their opinion and to voice that opinion. That said if people are that unhappy with the 2nd phase of the poppies perhaps they should spend more time on forums where they have an interest in what is going on. I would not want to be here myself if it was a "kiss Grahams arse forum" so welcome the odd difference of opinion, but too much negativity just breeds anger in those trying to be positive.

I hope this new phase of PWEI is a success. And I think the record is very very good. And that's what I'm taking out of the current situation - a very promising start for the future of PWEI2.

I agree in principle but the failry uninformed argument covered at great length stuff we have all put to bed and issues the new band have dealt with very well - there is an official website with a run down of the new members which was put up in good time for ticket buyers to read. Time to move on kidz. There hae been zero reports of riots at the gigs due to mis-information and all the ex poppies seem right behind this version.

PS i can't see how anything to do with PWEI is worthly of a 'public announcement'. It's only pop music.

It's not that I'm unhappy about the PWEI 2nd phase - I am unhappy with the lack of transparency about line ups and who was involved and so forth,. Its not negativity to see clarity on whats happening, whose in the band, and important things like that.

As for the comment about a "troll", a troll does it for attention. I do not. I do it because, as I say, I actually give a damn.I don;t agree with the thread being locked - and that said, of course its going to be quiet at 5.50 in morning!

if they had been dealt with, why was I asking? I've not come across this information, thats why I'm asking.

It was not put up in time for the booked 2010 dates, the july 2011 dates which were leaked and then pulled, not put up in time by the time Beautiful Days tickets went on sale or was announced. It was unclear to me, until last night halfway through the current tour, how the previous (classic line up, if you like) members, felt about this new PWEI reboot. I must challenge that assertion about it being "put up in good time". No one amongst the ticket buying public knew who was In the PWEI they were buying tickets to when plonking down £100+ for the Beautiful Days festival.

Technically, the legal definition of a riot is a disturbance involving 7 or more people. sounds like a moshpit to me!

Ah, when buying a service, or goods, no one buys blind. You want to know what it is you are buying.Thats why things like "who in the band" is relevant, important, and valid to ask, do you agree? Would you go see The beatles if you found out it was just Ringo? Nothing wrong with knowing what you are buying when you put the money down, is there?

As for repeating myself, my views remain and I stand by them.
As for the way it has been appraoched, my view is clear.

Now that the FB posts have been pointed out to me, I am much happier with these things now that has become clear.I just wish It has been made clear to all, rather than endlessly trawling through facebook posts etc....

I agree, that thread should have been left wide open. Although, maybe under a different title. I have been actively posting on the original nation forum, then we moved to the VE forum, then we moved to another nation forum, then another, now here.

I remember the boards going weeks without a post, and now it's getting interesting and new members are swarming in. Isn't this what we wanted? I am well versed in forum politics, but to my knowledge most of us are in our mid 30s or 40s. I don't anticipate we have the time or energy to carry on a flame war anymore. That said, Internet posts seem to always be read as confrontational, sarcastic, and baiting. Even with the best intentions at the healm.

I don't need to lecture, we are old dudes and have endured enough dictation in our lives.

As the Poppies (or Beasties, depending on whose lawyer you are listening to) said, "Let it flow!"
