I can see why they did not want to release the VMNP remix EP. PWEIZATION is pretty good but not mindblowing. It has some great parts, open drums ect which are ripe for re-editing with the original mix. 92F is not great, it's just a jumble of samples. That said the joy of these re-issues is hearing unrealeased stuff so I'm really grateful they are on here. the early version of VMNP is interesting. It's is really noisy and has a Prime Mover sample in there. Can anyone here ID the guitar parts samples on the intro? Again some great bits here that could be pilfered. I like the way they couldn't be bothered to get the vocal sample from Preaching in time. It's good to hear how the track started life. I love the early version of Wise Up!. It's quite sparse so this is begging for a remix!
Now I was a bit tired last night but the main Lp sort of sounded like it was running away with itself...ie to fast? I'm sure it's not. It might be the remastering making it sound different to me and throwing me off. I noticed a lot more detail in the OG mix of 92F they synth line sounds clearer and Sylvias vocals sound better and fuller to me.
Really enjoyed Adams sleeve notes and the notes / booklet in general. I a lot of love and graft has obviously gone into them and they are a great read.
Well done to Adam, Ohm and all on this re-issue programme.
PS the interview with Adam in the newsletter is quite revealing and a great read.
