I remember that first time I heard karmadrome I thought it was absolutely brilliant but I had no idea it was PWEI.
I was in a music shop in Munich when it was played & it was only when I asked the person in the shop what it was that I got a pleasant surprise. I didn't however like the rest of the album at first, in fact I hated at first. I just thought there was too many weak tracks on it and the lads were jumping on the grunge bandwagon. It did of course grow on me and has some top tunes but I still dislike I've always been A Coward Baby & still hate the abomination Teenage Grandad. I didn't have the same problem with DDMA though, I loved it from the very first listen. Yea the humour was gone but that was replaced with serious lyrics, grinding guitar work & a hard industrial sound. Yea it was their darkest album but to me it was their return to form.
Anyway, This is This is still my favourite;

I'm surprised how LOTLS is seen as their weakest by many. To me, CFS expands the electronica of TiT and LOTLS expands the rock side. I thought it would be DDMA that would be the most controversial - It is the one album where they actually started to change.

Now, of course, New Noise is the most controversial.

I still love all their albums. I haven't heard Now for a Feast. Is it good?

You wouldn't be surprised to be honest. Outside of the somewhat world of PWEIForumdom, a lot of people who like the band are debating their disappointment in Facebook comments.

LOTL? is my favourite PWEI album, because getting Fuzz in was the best thing they ever did.

Some people have nothing better to do than whinge about stuff over the internet, that's up to them! I love the new album myself and i'm looking forward to the London gig very much and then looking forward to seeing this project progress further and further (Much as The Wonder Stuff have since they pretty much started over from scratch with EFRI)

hi, not everyone is going to like everything but it thought i'd add my 2p's worth....

the new album is still bedding in with me so it is too early to say where it fits in my run down of PWEI albums.

as a life long (well, since i was 11) poppies fan, the thing i love about them is that they grew, changed and evolved on every new release. i for one would have been pretty pissed off if after all the years they came out with something that sounded exactly like when i saw them last back at Wolves Civic in 95/6 (or whenever it was).

PWEI always seemed to reflect what was happening in society but filtered it, shaped it into an original sound and used it to hammer, hammer hammer a message into the minds and the lifestyles on our generation.

Time has moved on and let's face it, times seem harder for most of us. Harder times call for harder music and in that case i think this PWEI record is as relavent and impressive as anything which has come before.
