Whilst I might not be able to contribute a whole track, I'd be up for some vocals if anyone needs them. My singing is pretty reasonable with some top 10s on the Wii versions of Rock Band 2/3 and Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock, if that's anything to go by.

And of course much more easier to sing when it's a band you like as well

In the meantime payback, where do you need the "England's Finest" vocal recording sending? I might give that a blast first.

You can PM me here with a link to download your FInest vox. Someone asked ages ago about the timing of the 'nation' biit at the end.

For everyone who wants to pass on this vox - just singe the thing as normal...then give me and extra shout out of nation after a few beats...I know how I'm going to edit it.

Anyhow Waz...I'm doing Losing My Mind and would be up for a vox on that? I will send you a demo of the track and the lyrics when it's in a decent enough shape if you like?

I'll see how it goes with the England's Finest vox. One thing is though - I'll probably need to source a different mic. The USB mics normally used on the Wii and connected to the PC seem okay, but particularly with any p's and b's it tends to record quite loudly as pops, and I've tried two of them (handy for vocal harmony on Rock Band 3 though.)

If anyone's got any decent mic recommendations I'm all ears.

Losing My Mind might also be doable, but I'd probably need a few goes at it to get it close to being right..

Hi,

Pops and that - more vocal volume furthr from the mic is the answer. You will likely get pops if you have it very close to your mouth. I've used a lousy pounshop mic and gay robot-ed a vox for the track but I would rather look at some other options.

I'm no expert and have never used one myself so I could well be talking out of my arse however, but I've heard those kind of things work well.

I think I may well chicken out and go instrumental again but I'm at least going to try and do vocals for my tracks. I might go the vocoder effect route myself, or just distort/filter to fuck the vocals.

I'm about 95% done on my Sweet Sweet Pie remix...it's missing a little something....DOTM demo to pass to CB4H / Jas is coming on great...other 2 remixes are off to good starts and I'm only doing one new cover - Losing My Mind...which is about 8 bars long right now...oh dear.

Do other readers have a progress report?

Works been hella busy with a lot of other boring stuff going on too. Got a smashing new PC though. I say smashing because the pre-installed Windows 8 wasn't compatible with half my programs or plugins and made me want to smash it against a wall. Think I've ironed out the creases though and seems to be playing ball but no new news to report. Going to take a week off in April methinks to get cracking and sort this all out!

Although... I have done a remix of Sweet Sweet Pie (is remixing our own track off limits?) that I sent to Payback a while ago...
