Everyone seems to be lucky except me, ordered it through Amazon then they said October delivery then Cherry red started sending it out so I changed order but it never arrived and they said its was delayed due to the masive orders they were getting for it, I,m back with Amazon as I get a free MP3 down load on my phone, can,t wait. Ok, I’ve given this a whole weekends worth of listening and want to share my thoughts. A couple of things come to mind, first, this album shows the circle of life (I’m trying not to bust into a Lion King inspired sing-along). PWEI were the most important band to me in my teens and I’m trying to remember where I was in life in 1996 compared to now being a mid 30s bald parent and overall upstanding member of society. Also, I’ve really enjoyed reading what others think about the album and all the opinions on here help show why PWEI was so great. We can only agree that we all love PWEI but which album and why never seems to have a consensus.

Anyway, here’s where I disagree with the consensus on here: I love T+A=$ and think the lyrics are great. Sums up the time for the band and would have been great to my teenager ears. However, I have gone from trying to play songs low in my bedroom trying to prevent my mom from coming in if she hears too many “bad” words to playing songs in my home office low in fear that my 5 year old will hear too many “bad” words. The beating I would get from the Mrs would be much worse than any beating from the parents if the boy breaks into T+A=S at the dinner table. I also really like Point Blank: Zero Return (reminds me of Losing My Mind from the LOTL re-release) and I actually enjoy Big Green Head more than others. But that may be because the 5 year old gets a kick out of the Incredible Hulk inspired lyrics. That one is an appropriate dinner table song. Also, I don’t like The Demon as much as others. I prefer the Vile Evils version, but it is a little unfair to compare them, and I think the voice effects detract from Hangman.

Finally, the agreements: 100% Is **it is great. Could’ve been / should’ve been a big hit single. Really enjoy No Contest, Out of Darkness Cometh Light, and I am the One. No surprise these songs seem further along than some of the others and that’s why they seem to be the consensus favorites. Given the time to properly finish the album it would’ve been a hit, for sure. Had Graham still been around to compliment Clint we would’ve had another classic PWEI album. Oh well, what might have been. Very grateful to everyone involved for making this release finally happen.

No Contest is the best 'song' on there for me. Ace lyric from Clint and tons of attitude. it's a real earworm and could have been a single. Demon stomps all over the 2010 version. it's really dense and heavy with lots of stuff layered in there that rewards repeat listens - by far the best track on there.

Out Of Darkness is tops for me, i think so anyway..................it's a bit hard to choose.

Only had a couple of listens but musically this is obviously closer to classic Poppies than NNDBAS, but that aside it's virtually impossible to compare songs written mostly a decade apart. Comparing the two really throws into sharp relief which aspects of the music were down to Clint and which to Gra though. It's a shame that partnership is permanently over, but I still appreciate that both of them are still making music I love.

It's a far more musically diverse 'album' than Dos Dedos despite obviously being aimed squarely at the industrial market. The drums are all over the place in the best way possible and the filtered guitars suit the Poppies far more than some of the brash riff-led tracks on New Noise.

The album lacks a bit of production polish, but still kicks the arse out of any other album I bought in 1996.

I know, but the compositions have changed dramatically, even from the versions of those used in Vile Evils.

Sorry, I can see how that would be confusing. Despite being written by different halves of the vocal crew, the compositions have still been been produced over a decade apart and released under the same name. Despite some of the NNDBAS tracks originally being demoed much earlier, ALOTOCB sounds far more like a product of it's time, while NNDBAS is far more contemporary.

Oh for the mystery of the Vestan Pance days.
