I agree with you 100% about disc 2, it's amazing to get to hear this stuff and i bloody love it. Disc 1 to be honest i didn't even bother playing all the way through, i only listened to the Kick To Kill demo and i assumed Babylon was the radio 1 session version which i already have? The other bonus tracks i definitley already have which is why i was so disappointed with the track listing in the first place.

Well, I am one of those "international" folk that still haven't got their CD, so am hankering to get it here & cranked loud.

As Payback said, all in all, it's not a matter of 1 or 2 unheard tracks, we are talking about MORE new / unheard tracks than any other of the reissues had, so I for one am very happy, excited & thankful for all the work & effort put in by Richard, Clint & Adam (& all concerned).

The thing that shits me most about this interwebs & social media era is that every arsehole with an opinion thinks that their opinion is the only opinion that matters - but maybe that's just me sharing my opinion!?

From what Ohm's said it looks like there really wasn't anything else lying around that the band was happy with to release. Also looking at Adam's notes it looks like it was a quick recording with less demos floating around? May be the case that it was those few tracks or nowt!

Like I've said before, I'm hoping to get this for my birthday in just over a month, so maybe I'll be reviewing it about the same time as those overseas. I wasn't hugely bothered as DDMA is probably my least favourite poppies album (I say that, and then bloody love most of it when I play it!), but the reviews that have been posted have really made me look forward to hearing this.

I've got to say, though, I can totally see where VMNP is coming from. The previous re-issues had some really interesting, and damn good demo/alt versions of well-known tracks. This re-issue doesn't have something comparative to that.

Of course, the fact that we are being given a whole other album instead, well, that's cracking. But I can see his point, and I think a couple of posters have been a bit harsh!

But Onket this release does have something comparative to the other ones - the second disk of previously unreleased studio tracks and demos edited and assembled into an LP by Clint & Adam. I think there is some confusion that they have just plucked the LP out of a draw. This is stuff put together to make a 'sort of' last LP...it wasn't ready to go back in 1996 and mothballed.

I can't see how a whole CD unearthed stuff is lesser than demos of stuff already heard?

I think if DDMA and ALOTOCB had been issued as separate releases then you might have a point but I paid a tenner for the pair, you can't really grumble at that in any way whatsoever!

I can see some cause for complaint, I guess... I think most of these disc sets were aimed at us (the fans) - so having vinyl-only tracks as the 5-bonuses on the DDMA CD would have been nice.

That being said - I suspect between the unreleased CD (which trumps all the other sets, in my mind), and this being their biggest record in North America - it will sell to more folks than the previous ones did, and to more casual fans - so things like the Die Krupps mix are good additions for the middle-type-fan, and a few oddities for those of us on the inside (agree on the Babylon Radio Version as a big plus) in my estimation make this a balanced set for casual and fanatic fans alike.

Would I change the listing for myself? Maybe - but I don't get the impression there's anything left unreleased that the band want to stand behind, so this set seems pretty fair. And the "vinyl-only" tracks are not hard to come by in nice form...

That aside - can anyone else confirm - have there been any issues ripping "A Lick..." for other folks, or is it just my 2 machines acting up?
