I'm on strike. In fact, I'm picketing.

Comes to something, when we need to explain that this strike is about ensuring that public sector workers are defending pensions of UNDER £4k a YEAR in many cases, rather than the Gov't/press spin.

Believe strongly in this. Let's not continue to penalise public sector workers for the rest of their working lives and beyond, for the mistakes of the banking sector.

I was going to be picketing my workplace, but incredibly we've managed to get nearly 20 people to come forward to volunteer, which means I can stay at home to look after my one year old and the other half will be picketing her workplace where they're a bit more thin on the ground.

In the private arm of business myself - cant strike about pensions as we dont get one

I fully support those who do though - at the end of the day a contract is a contract, anyone else other than the government would be taken to court. As said above why the hell should the people suffer due to governments thats cant budget correctly (no polital swing - they are all wankers, to quote Alf Garnet "i have lived under Labour and Tory and been poor under every bloody one of them") and bwankers (not a typo) who think industry is a roulette wheel - i bet their pensions are ok.

After we win this battle, we'll join you private sector employees and push for proper compulsory pensions for all.

It's a fucking basic human need to have to eat, drink and clothe oneself, after all. Plus pay for somewhere to live... etc

I'm on strike today.

The changes to my teacher pension include me working until I'm 68, paying £100 a month more and getting less pension at the end. If I make it to 68, that is.
