"hey there weirdsbarandgrill2 are you in fact......................
nomorefakereunions .....with a shiny new name to backup your crap and vapid arguments?"
No. I'm not. I'm in fact the same as "wierdsbarandgrill", but I lost the password to that and was having trouble logging into the relevant account to retreive it.
"crap and vapid"? I understand if you don't agree with me. My opinions are both logical, supportable by reasoning and facts. If new facts become clear, then i change my opinion. simple.
The fact that I seem to agree with one other poster here doesn't make me either imaginary, fictional, or a sock puppet.
The fact that I don't think this current incarnation of PWEI has been handled in the public eye well, or with clarity, or with openess, is both fair and reasonable.
The fact that I actually have the balls to criticise the band for their actions rather than uncritically, slavishly writing "isn't it great they're playing again! WOW!" etc. means what exactly? that with the PWEI band name comes certain (not unreasonable) expectations, and the way that has been handled falls way short.
For me "vapid" means someone whose opinions are slavish, uncritical, and unthinking,. X-Factor is that way > > > > > "crap"? Not at all. logical, rational, reasonable, and with some sort of level of expectation given the fact Ive bene following this band for 20 years, seen them over 15 times.
And in short, after about three months of asking for "what the hell do Fuzz, Adam and Richard feel about this?" we find out. Why the hell does it take so long? Why wasnt this made clear in the first place? Is that unreasonable? Or are you content to have the name PWEI slapped over any old band and just lap it, uncritically? Because I'm not that.
Everytime a band comes out, they have to prove themselves again. Not just to joe public, but to the people who they, as musicians, depend on to keep themfed. The people that buy the records, the gig tickets, the people who actually give a shite.Without your fans, you are nothing. Treat the fans like rubbish and with contempt, and then watch your fan base fritter away quicker than you can say "big mac, fries to go?" as a career decision, rather than a lyric.
My opinion is as valid as anyone elses'. I don't lavish fanboy praise on a band simply because of the name. that WOULD be vapid.
I could be considered opinionated. But thats because I actually do give a damn.
