News about pop will eat itself

Stoke

We arrived early and went straight into the venue - they had a local poet/folk singer on who was very entertaining - however the crowd was sparce and we wondered if it would fill out as the time got nearer to their set - So we wandered to the roof top bar for half an hour and came back down to an almost full house !! The crowd were up for a bit of poppies for sure and they never failed to deliver. Superb is all I have to say - really really great fun. PWEI MK 2 are just on fire. They gel together and I never thought I would say this but they are a better 'band' now than they have ever been before..... this is a whole new chapter in the life of PWEI and I for one can not wait to see what they do with this.... they played pretty much the whole of the new album bar 1 song but threw in about 8 of the old stuff but nothing from Cure for Sanity and no Def Con One but that was fine as what they showed was they have moved on. Great night - get out to see them on this tour if you can as I think it will be the last time you see em in a small intimate venue as the next time they come up they will be up to the next level for sure. Word will spread......

Yeah great night. I also thought 'ah shit' no ones coming but it picked up nicely. I think a fair few were just regular Sugarmill go-ers who thought they'd see what was going on. In relation to other old git bands that have returned Pop Will Eat Itself II are absolutley flying high.

Same with the Glasgow one. I think the fans are just moving a bit slower to get to the venue in their dotage.

Gutted we can not go to London - we are in town that night as well but already have tickets to see The Mission - bad that both are billed the same night really as it is a cross over crowd - The Mission has sold out and PWEI are on limited tickets so it will be an amazing night - enjoy those that are going as I know 5 of our crew are gutted they are not going..

Really enjoyed PWEI v2.0 as i've seen it put. A few hiccups and the odd 'loose nut' here and there.. But they didn't take anything away from a night of good humour from Crabbie and Mary and some well driven tunes from the others and hearing the straines of MM made me wanna dance like a mad teenager agen!!
'Can u PoGo.. Or Wot?' answer, yes but I dont remember my legs aching for 2 days wen I was a teenager?? :| :|
Big up the 2 Chris's from the 3rd..
