I was blown away by Superhero and as a big FNM fan I picked up Sol Invictus right away...and was disappointed. It's not a bad album, definitely take some listens. But I found some of the tracks just to be a little too weak, in the same way I found AOTY to have half baked tracks. Don't get me wrong, both SI and AOTY have fantastic tracks, it's just they also have some very 'meh' ones, IMO. I think I'll give SI a re-listen today, actually.

I've changed my opinion on this album a little bit. In the end I did buy a digital copy and, with a bit of messing about with the settings, I found a not-quite-as-awful-as-I-remembered live album lurking amongst the mp3s.

It's not right, but it's OK and maybe Im being sentimental, but its a nice record (no pun intended) of those days when PWEI were enjoying their most commercially successful times..

Might have to play my vinyl copy and see what I think of the sound. Maybe the cd afterwards and compare them!
