Birmingham's B-Side

Looks like the Visit Birmingham website have a little competition where you can pick your favourite track from Birmingham and West Midlands bands:

http://visitbirmingham.com/bside

The idea is a 20 track playlist of songs from the region, so nominating PWEI would be good of course, with a good reason why you'd select the track in question as well. There is a prize on offer as well.

Only difficult decision is which track to pick!

Just a shame you've got to pick one, but it'd be Wise Up! Sucker for me as well. If it wasn't that, Ich Bin Ein Auslander a close second.

Maybe we need to get some others to vote too?

The judges are selecting the final 20 today - if you are after a live feed follow @visit_bham on Twitter.

They did acknowledge that I'd voted for Wise Up! Sucker though, which is nice :)

Birmingham Mail report from today here:

http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/whats-o ... de-7398524

There were around 150 different tracks nominated, five of which were from the incredible PWEI. Obviously "Wise Up! Sucker" was one of them, wondered that the other four would be?

I'd be hedging the bets at possibly Def Con One and Ich Bin Ein Auslander being two of the others...

Decent panel with Sir Horace on there. Would hope Vix Vox is a Poppies fan too

A top 21 in the end instead of 20 was announced yesterday:

http://visitbirmingham.com/bside/

Shockingly, no PWEI. Wonderstuff got an entry with "Caught In My Shadow".

Out of the 20 I picked for an article on my web site, 3 of them got in (War Pigs, Love and Affection and One In Ten)
