So - maybe it's all still digitally available, but there was enough of a mess over the whole thing - after the final volume of PWEI stuff is done - is it worth trying to see what is or isn't still available for VE and making that Disc 5?

Just a thought I had - some of the weird MySpace versions of the tracks that didn't surface elsewhere and such...

At the weekend I waded through all the old demos trying to fugure out which were actually demo's for the PWEI LP that never happened...and which were demo's for the VE LP that was recorded, then pulled and mostly re-recorded as the new PWEI mk2 LP.

It's confusing...but seeing as you should not be able to buy the VE LP at all...we could sort this later on in 2013. Maybe as a PWEI comp with a lot of asterix's? IE

Seek & Destroy (Early Doors Demo)
Seek & Destroy (Vile Evils Studio Version)

Or maybe as a Vile Evils compilation - PNVE001?

Mmm. Do Crabbi & Adam mind? Please speak up if so. But really we would just be collating and sorting what most folks already have.

I'd tread very carefully where the VE stuff is concerned if i were you.

It might be a bit problematic reading your message then. The other issue with this proposed volume for me though is that it has no intrinsic value. The Vols 1 - 4 are collating stuff from long lost deleted releases and in many cases, vinyl only releases. Putting them all together to fill the gaps of the currently re-issued back catalogue makes sense. It's all stuff that was officially released, but stuff you cannot buy 'new'. So we are not fleecing anyone.

The VE / PWEI 2 stuff is really a bit tricky to justify as technically nothing apart from the singles were official...also lets face it we all have this stuff and if you don't someones going to help you out.* What I might do at some point is put together artwork for a 5th volume then if people want to collate there archive of demos and lp versions of pre NNDBAS version to that tracklisting, they can.

Or of course if anyone else want to rub c*****g v****l up the wrong way go ahead!

As long as you aren't profiting from it or causing profit to be diverted from the "owners" of the music, you're not really breaking any laws. The most I think they could do is send a "cease and desist" order.
The one luxury you have is that you're in a position to actually ask the "owner".

There's no secrets here. It's just a bit shady isn't it? Crabbi pulled all this stuff for a good reason...and linking to downloads of it here is not sporting if you look at it from that point of view.

Plenty to get on with rounding up the old PWEI stuff upto Vol 4 anyhow.

But a sleeve collate everything is not hurting anyone is it?
