PWEI In Session 1992 - 1994 Discussion Thread

Postby payback3000 » Mon Dec 10, 2012 12:14 pm

Hi all,

OK I have been tinkering with the tracks for the 'PWEI In Session' CD (seperate to the 'Radio PWEI' one I was talking about).

I have 12 tracks here. With some editing, looping and fading I have managed to repair the ones with DJ chat and drop out / interference. I've also tweaked them a fair bit to get them sounding consistent. It's a decent listen and probably worth sharing here. Does anyone know the exact dates of broadcast for all the stuff here?

Also does anyone have a complete recording of the 'Mother' session version? Even if it has the DJ chat on. I might be able to sort it. Currently this is sitting in the 'reject' pile as it's missing a massive chunk off the intro. it starts at the end of verse 1.
Bullet Proof from Hit the north - I've binned this as it's a mess and we have a better version from the other session. I can't see the point in having 2 x versions of Bulletproof on there.

Mark Goodier Session 1992. Pretty good recodings. Just had to deal with the talkovers.
Eat Me, Drink Me, Love Me, Kill Me
The Scottish Song (Karmadrome)
Bulletproof!

Mark Radcliffe / BBC Radio 5 / Hit the North show / 1992. A lot of clicking and some drop out throughout. I've fixed this as best I can. anyone got better versions? They sound pretty good now if not.
Get The Girl! Kill The Baddies!
I've Always Been A Coward, Baby
Harry Dean Stanton
Teenage Grandad

Madia Vale Sessions 1994. Spot on these. Sound great.
Fatman
Kick To Kill
Underbelly
Babylon

Mark Goodier 1994
Come As You Are. I fixed this a few years back -intro and outro. It's OK.

Rejected
Bulletproof (bad take and we have one better version anyhow)
Mother (partial - does not start until the end of verse 1)

I would like to kickstart a Facebook petition to get some or all of this BBC stuff released properly and link to all that with the download for this compilation.

Can anyone set up one? I don't know how too.

It surprised me that the BBC archived PWEI stuff didn't surface when the EMF and Jesus Jones stuff came to light a couple years back - seemed like a wasted cross-fanbase situation to me.

Just putting this one out there for you payback...what about adding the MTV unplugged tracks to this comp? I saw a really cool version of Pretty Pretty on you tube and Familus Horribilus is appearently there too, there where two or three other parts of it but they where deleted from Youtube...any chance you have these and can add?; I think they fit the brief perfectly for what you doing! Do tv show appearance and interviews count? 'Coz I think the live version of Ich Bin with Funder's is still looking for a home...

Can anyone find exact broadcast dates for the blow stuff? I have the usio files all done now. I'm working on the sleeve. At the moment i just have the vauge name of the session eg- make goodier bbc radio 1 session / 1992. Any one know hwere to find more data? I only have the Madia Vale Studio Sessions listed as that. Where they broadcast on Radio 1? If so on what show? Not essential but would be nice to have some accurate info. I can't find any.
