Stuff brought up in the "merchandise" thread so I thought I'd start a new topic on it.
One thought for younger fans- a remix contest through a site like Indaba. I know "No Fear" had one years ago and "Reclaim the Game" as well, but I don't remember if either were affiliated with an actual online hub of young production talent. Indaba (and other sites) reach a huge group of people who may never have heard of PWEI, and I think the nature of PWEI music is very production heavy and would appeal to like minded etc. etc.
When James (the band) had a contest last year, they did a top 10 countdown with band commentary on each track for their fb page. Really built up anticipation/ interest.
Also, video remix contests; Shia Lebouf rants in front of a green screen and the internet takes over. I recall REM putting some "video stems" out for Supernatural Superserious and getting massive fan interest. Sometimes these video/ fan producers have a larger audience than the band they are working with.
I happen to think the 21st Century English Civil War video is the best video PWEI ever had, after some dismal recent ones, and that kind of stuff gets noticed when it's in a curated Vimeo collection...
