i feel i must give my PWEI history before i get nailed up as a hater
Ive loved the poppies since i first got into them in 91
i know its not as old skool as many of the peeps on here but the excitment in felt upon hearing
Karmadrme for the first time and the same feeeling upon hearing RSVP.

Chaos and Mayhem did not give me this feeling.

from here on out PWEI is a nice surprise that pops up on my ipod
The album is dated,weak and over produced.

I must admit, there are plenty of Poppies singles that have done nothing for me. I assume this is because they're aimed directly at the 'pop' market.

I think Chaos stands nicely alongside other guitar driven tracks such as Eat Me Drink Me, Wise Up Sucker etc.

I think with how wonderfully varied the Poppies have always been (and it looks like always will be), there will always be tracks that some love and others aren't so fond of & vice versa.

For me I can happily skip Underbelly & Fatman when I listen to DDMA, I love Auslander as a song but I get frustrated hearing 2 near carbon copies 10 minutes later, especially after the joy of Familus Horribilus. I also find PWEIzation a bit tacky & cheesy.

On fist couple of listens I thought I was going to end up dismissing Chaos & Mayhem in the long run but it is growing on me with every listen.

The great thing is we are all here through a mutual love of all things PWEI, it's fun to debate our varying opinions of different tunes/ lps/ line-ups etc and interesting to hear why some people love stuff and others don't. It would be dull if we all loved the same stuff equally!
