Does it have to be exactly the same as the original lyrically? Or can it be updated slightly?

It's not an amazing recording, it was banged out in about an hour, plus I didn't make the beat so I'm not submitting it myself. Anyone know the origin of this beat? I got it from Pheonix and Punkhellokitty when the old site was operational but I don't know it's origins beyond that...anyone recognize it?
