There is something about New Noise that I can't quite put my finger on, maybe it's because I know it's mostly a bunch of new guys and not Fuzz, Rich, Adam and Clint, maybe because I heard most of it as Vileevils already, I think it's OK but can't help thinking it's 'different' and don't really put it alongside the older albums, if any of that makes sense. Hopefully with the new one being 100% new material with the line-up fully in place it'll be a different situation.
Here to sing, by request, here we bring...

Totally agreed, there is not depth to the sound. It all seemed really flat, and the mix was fucking awful! The vox either sounded way too muddy or overdubbed on a finished track; similar to karaoke.

The second half of NNDBAS is classic poppies to me.

Just post it here - as long as it's fair comment and not abuse. Crabbi is a grown man. Mind you didn't Clint once threaten the NME guy who gave CFS a really bad write up?

I can't say I understand the many gripes about the 'sound quality'. I don't think it's poor - just not very organic. But then even if Crabbi wanted to, could he ever afford to get the sound of the old studios used to record the original LP's? Can anyone apart from Muse & Coldplay? I can see how the LP is not for everyone but I can't get my head around anyone thinking Wasted or Search & Destroy are not Crabbi classics. Old School Cool is amazing also and the best of the new stuff live. I also really love Disguise but I know a few fans who can't bear to listen to it.

I guess we all have our own idea of what PWEI should sound like...but imagine if the internet was around when they started rappping, or went 'too techno' for CFS...or went grunge pop for TLOTL...carnage! I would be interested to hear anyone's thoughts on why they hate this new stuff so much...and Crabbi can always cover his eyes!

I think New Noise is good but have always felt like it was missing something. I'm sure some of that had to do with hearing the demos and the Vile Evil stuff before. But I also always thought the Vile Evil stuff was missing something. So I decided they were missing each other. Thanks to modern technology I just whipped up a playlist on my iPod that combined some of the New Noise stuff with the Vile Evil stuff and found I really enjoy the album much more. It gives it a good mix of the hard stuff and a little more of the dancy stuff. For what it's worth, here's my mix:

1. Fucking & Fighting (single version)
2. Chaos & Mayhem
3. Demon (single version)
4. No Fear (single version)
5. Seek & Destroy
6. Disguise
7. Nosebleeder Turbo TV
8. Retro Dreaming (demo)
9. Oldskool Cool
10. Captain Plastic
11. Street Riotin’ (vlve)
12. Wasted (vlve)
13. Wasted (reprise)
