VMNP REMIX. Holy Grail Type Sh*t

Ok,

UGB has sent us some press shots to add to the gallery which is in the works. One of the shots shows Clint holding up copies of the obscene amount of formats RCA released the VMNP Ep on to try and chart it.

Ok, some might be mock ups - the Pic disk doesn't look right - but Fuck me -on the left is the sleeve for the REMIX EP. So tDR artwork existed!

Never heard of the remix ep being released...

It does look like the standard 12" with a remix sticker on it...

But if it is real then I think all of us here will be doing some serious sleuthing to find one!

it's not just a sticker.

The sleeve is darker - probably purple - and there are dots added around the robo. My guess is it is a mock up or print proof that been mocked up prior to the print run. The picture disk is clearly a mock up as you can''t see the clear plastic.

However RCA may have gone as far as producing the sleeves and then aborting before the actual records were pressed. In which case the band may have a sleeve - the rest will have been pulped?

The KLF discog is littered with sleeves that were printed up but the records don't exist due to them being aborted.

We know it never got past test pressings...but at least we know tDR may have the artwork files archived for it.

yeah, certainly never even got test-pressed from all reports - but there was either mock artwork or print proof of some sort by the looks of that.

Looking forward to hearing these remixes on the forthcoming reissues... now THAT will be a special treat for all us fans!

Ooh, nice! I guess this is where the rumour of Clint having the only copy of the remix 12" came from. It would be great if tDR could show us a scan of the mock-up or something. It kinda looks like the background circles of the remix 12" might've been recycled for the Cure For Sanity cover to an extent. That is an obscene number of formats for one EP though isn't it. I got the boxed tape single a couple of weeks ago and it's rather lovely packaging.

But if the remix ep was planned surely there must have been some remixes to go on there? Or is it just stuff that found its way out elsewhere like the many many 92 degress mixes?

Good eye, I've had those glossy prints for years and never noticed. I guess this is leverage to find out what Clint is doing with the 12", if it still exists or ever has. Like everyone else is saying, the least we could get is a taste of what tDR art looked like.

was released, in order to boost sales.However, it was withdrawn after the singlefailed to chart in the top 30.

How can it be true that the remix 12" was aborted because the original sngle which came out a few days before failed to chart well... surely they would have had to press the Remix EP a lot sooner than the day before its release?!
