pop will eat itself

I've been on a live album kick as of late, en rue to work I treated myself to At Weird's Bar & Grill. I was just thinking, did anyone go to that gig? It sounded pretty energetic and spot-on, it's one of the few times I wish I was 10 years older and European on the off chance I could have caught it;)

I think it's a great album.

Sure I read/heard somewhere that it's made up of different gigs on the same tour though, not one specific gig all the way through.

It would make sense that it was split between a few live shows, I assume it was all recorded during the TLOTLS tour. I could be wrong, but it's seems heavy on those tracks.

it was compiled from various dates on the Galaxian Patrol tour...I guess thats why they don't fuck up the lyrics on anything?

Do love that LP & the version of Nightmare at 20,000 ft is one of my fave Poppies tunes.

Had it on tape in '93 (I were a kid), lent it to someone & they bloody well taped over the first minute of England's Finest so no intro loop & bugger all intro!

Got the vinyl too and it's missing some tracks that are on t'other versions which is a bugger.

I have the Galaxian Patrol CD single and At Weird's Bar & Grill on CD/Vinyl, but I can't remember off the top of my head if it listed show dates. Weird's Bar & Grill is a real place, right? I have a glossy with them in front of a venue with that name, I simply assumed it was a one off from a gig there.

That's right, I saw that in the re-issue notes.

I've got it on tape but have not had a tape player to listen to it on for years. Are they still available (I'm talking for a seperates system)?

When I get home I am going to take a look, I'm almost certain I have a pic of the boys in front of a venue with that name. If I'm crazy and imagining it I will be sure to let you all know as well;)

i went to at least one of the gigs on that tour, fantastic fun!!
