I stuck a bit of a PWEI advert up in some other forums, just trying to get the masses on board - there are probably more than a few people who have no idea what is going on with new album and tour.
Best replies were on the Primal Scream forum - a couple of great stories that i thought i would share with you:
I went to see Primal Scream play at Birmingham Burberries October 1987. Despite the fact that their records at that time were an attempt at sounding like the Byrds this show was very (dare I say it) high energy rock n' roll!!! Bobby looked like a late 60's Neil Young (checked shirt & ripped jeans) and came on with a huge bottle of wine (which he'd finished by halfway through the gig).
It was a blinding gig but the last song was the best bit!!! They ended with an amazing version of "Gloria" and guess who joined them on stage???? If my memory serves me correct it was about 3 members of PWEI!!! They didn't play any instruments but rather helped shouting "Gloria" and generally jumped around a lot!!
I left shortly after and noticed Clint was infront of me. I said "That was fucking amazing" to him to which he replied "Very entertaining!"
An offshoot of PWEI called Vileevils played a gig in Glasgow in November 2006. I (recently singled) went along with my female pal (recently singled) to see them, ended up drinking shots of absinthe and sambuca with them backstage, tumbled up the road to mine and *thiings* happened. Fast forward nearly 5 years and I'm marrying the bint a week on Tuesday. We've both wanted to go to Berlin for ages so are going on honeymoon there, but the only day you can't fly out from Glasgow is a Wednesday so we cannae go till the Thursday. Guess who's playing the day between the wedding and Berlin? PWEI. It's fate, I tells ya. Gonna try and meet up with Graham (who I think is the only remaining one from Vileevils), show him the rings and tell him it's HIS fault...
