UGB is one of us... ie: CANADIANS!

CANADA! CANADA!

Sorry - needless patriotism is always fun...

Oh shit, sorry. No offence intended.

I'll buy you both a pint if we're ever in the same place. ;)

Surprisingly, I just emailed dPulse records, asking them to confirm that I can indeed get shipping on their "Arrives Boxed" Vile Evils set (a 6 cd set of everything VE) and whether it will be glass copy CD's or CDR's... and got an immediate reply.

A guy named Dean instantly came very clean with me about the nightmares folks had trying to get the original VE recordings from them. Expressed that they totally dropped the ball on that, were completely unprepared, made tons of mistakes and pissed a lot of good people off. He went into some other details, but I'm not trying to quote or misquote him... but he seemed really honest and remorseful about the whole ordeal. He told me that the discs I order are indeed going to be CDR copies, but that they are from the original AIF files (not from MP3's), will have minimal inserts and covers that are not quite what one would expect from a professional release, but are barcoded for sale, shrink wrapped and guaranteed.

Hey, honesty and apology go a long way with me and the price for 6 discs was really good, so I placed an order which had no shipping charges and is supposed to be express shipping.

I'll report back when I get them.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get EDiaWW.

Thanks everyone.

I was one of the people who ordered the 6 cdr set of the Vile Evils stuff, got them in about a week. They are cdr's but look fine and play fine so happy with them for the money.
CAN YOU DIG IT?

Dean told me that the CD's ship from another company that presses them to order. He obviously really pissed a lot of people off and he seems to be pretty well aware that dPulse has a shit reputation for it. Not making excuses, just willing to give him a chance to make good on the past by giving me what I want for dirt cheap. He knows that the discs are not retail quality and that's why he's selling them for so cheap now.

I finally got ahold of EDiaWW as well... so that's solved too. The new version is really different sounding. I can see why it isn't normally included on New Noise: it's a great track, but it just doesn't gel with the rest of the album.

For my next adventure, I have to get my local record store to order Chaos and Mayhem for me. It's still only a UK release, so I can't order it online. It's the same way I got New Noise a day before the UK release date and 31 days ahead of the scheduled US release date (which seems to have come and gone with no release and no news).
