Can anyone suggest a decent PVR?

Old one packed up recording some time ago now.

Do they do ones that you can download or record onto usb memory stick or similar?

Any advice or assistance appreciated.

When I was looking a few years back I was told they don't do anything that you could actually use to record onto anything, you know, like a vcr used to.

I hope something is available now, otherwise we've actually gone back to approx 1982 in terms of TV & related recording technology.

I'm not getting Sky or Virgin (big spit & slightly smaller spit)
