Anyone watch Sonisphere on the telly? Or go?

I am after the name of a mad band to dig deeper into.

They were on without introduction and played one song.

There was a grinning demon of a bloke drumming, a guy making obscene twisted guitar distortion wearing a cap and 70's style clothes.

The singer was wearing a black satin shirt and doing a bit of a Jim Morrison impression.

I quite liked them, but not enough to sift through the entire 2011 Sonisphere lineup on myspace...

Go music fiends!

Yes i was there.....

I think you may mean The Mars Volta second stage headliners on the sat i think.

You may also have noticed Jason Bowld (new PWEI drummer) rocking out with Bill Bailey headlining the second stage on sunday..

Awesome!

That is them - well done mate. Such skills to name the band from that very sketchy description.

You beat me to it! I wasn't there, but I'm a big fan and have followed them since early days! I'd recommend checking out De-loused In The Comatorium for starters. Following two albums went off into massive tangents, and the last two contained more concise material. Enjoy. :)
