The lack of "single" being available may also be a way of trying to get more people to buy the track from the album (& potentially buy the whole album - be it download or physical CD / LP).
It's a very typical "old school" approach... using "single" releases, radio airplay & a tour to help generate album sales - & you know, being an old school industry type, I totally respect that approach!
As a fan though, I want remixes, proper video clips, physical product etc, but I also understand that record companies (& the band themselves) don't have the cash to throw at all this stuff any more - it's more about unit sales, maximising marketing spends (thus creating a video clip that doubles as an EPK) and therefore actually trying to make money from a release.Statistics: Posted by urban_futuristic — Sun Mar 18, 2012 8:07 am
